Description

This course is for Revit users who wants to learn how to design lightning protection system in Revit according to IEC/EN/BS/DIN 62305-1/3 standard.

You will learn how to create Revit families for: vertical rod air termination system with its protective volume according to different LPL (lightning protection level ), solid tape or flat conductors, holders to ensure the distance between conductors and surfaces, clamps and others.

You will learn the fundamentals of the standard EN 62305 -1/3, mechanism of lightning discharge and understand the concept of lightning design using Rolling Sphere Method and make the simulation in Revit using intelligent families.

Training materials: Revit families.

Also, there will be a dynamo script, in this way the user will be able to understand how to use it for different type of situations when you have catenary wire suspended between masts.

2.2.Types of flashes. Lightning current parameters.

1.2.1 Lightning protection levels. Rolling sphere method .

3.3.3 Simulations using different lightning protection level for the Revit family.

4.3.4 Protection rolling sphere method air-termination design for different heights.

4.4.Configuration of air-termination conductors and down conductors. Solid tape/Flat conductors and others.

1.4.1 Revit family for conductor holders.

2.4.2 Array of conductor holders in Revit.

3.4.3 Materials, configurations and minimum cross-sectional areas according to EN 62305-3.

4.4.4 Revit family for Solid tape/Flat conductors.

5.4.5 Revit family for Clamps.

5.5.Two isolated air-termination masts, interconnected by horizontal catenary wire.
