Retargeting is running ads to people who have already visited your website. People who visited your website are considered « warm leads » who have already shown some interest in your site.
Targeting « warm » leads in better than targeting « cold » leads who know nothing about your business. Warm leads who click your ads and come back are more likely to engage with your business and are typically cheaper to target.
